Suma’s Organic Vegan Mushroom Pâté is a finalist for Best Organic Pantry Product at UK’s only organic awards

Elland-based Suma Wholefoods is a finalist for Best Organic Pantry Product for their Organic Vegan Mushroom Pâté at the BOOM (Best of Organic Market) Awards 2025 – the UK’s only dedicated organic awards.

Suma’s Organic Vegan Mushroom Pâté is up against the best that the organic market has to offer and faced a rigorous judging process by a professional panel of industry experts.

The pâté is a rich, savoury spread with a smooth, creamy consistency and deep, earthy flavour. Made from finely chopped forest mushrooms, onions, garlic, herbs and tofu, it’s 100% vegan, palm oil free, and packed with plant-based goodness – a delicious and nutritious option for conscious consumers.

The awards, run by leading organic certifier The Soil Association in partnership with headline sponsor Ocado, celebrate the brands, organisations and people behind the UK’s vibrant organic sector.

The finalists are being announced at a time when the UK’s organic market is seeing exceptional growth – significantly outperforming non-organic. In 2024, total organic sales hit £3.7bn, almost double the value of the market in 2014 (£1.86bn), according to Soil Association Certification’s 2025 Organic Market Report.

This growth reflects consumer demand for products that prioritise health and sustainability, especially among Gen Z. In fact, 7 out of 10 shoppers now say they intentionally buy organic food and drink (Organic Research Centre, 2024).

Sophie Ziegler-Jones, spokesperson for Suma said:
“Being a finalist in the Best Chilled and Frozen Product category at the BOOM Awards 2025 is a brilliant honour for our team.

“At Suma, we work cooperatively to make high-quality, ethical food – and this mushroom pâté is one of our most recent developments. It’s wonderful to have it recognised by the organic industry.”

“We’re proud to operate in ways that support ethical and sustainable food production. We call it food done fairly. More and more customers are really valuing that.”

Georgia Phillips, Soil Association Certification’s Commercial and Marketing Director, said:
“We are delighted to see Suma named as a finalist.

“Demand is growing for organic as more people are looking for products that are better for them and the environment.”

“Organic offers vital solutions for climate and nature, which is why we’re so excited to see brands like Suma getting excellent results.”

The BOOM Award winners will be announced at a ceremony on Thursday, 10th July 2025 at Paintworks, Bristol, home of the Soil Association, and hosted by TV personality Andy Clarke.
